September Leadership Update

Dear Caring Campus Community,

I have been encouraged by the continued momentum behind Caring Campus this fall and the growing commitment to building cultures where students feel a sense of belonging and care. Across the country, institutions are finding new ways to put care into action, and our partnerships are helping that work reach even more campuses.

One exciting example is the launch of 4CS Cares, a new statewide initiative from our longtime partners, the California Community Colleges Classified Senate (4CS), a nonprofit that represents and advocates for classified staff professionals within the California Community College System. 4CS Cares is designed to support California community colleges as they continue building caring, connected, and inclusive campus communities.

4CS will be releasing an updated Caring Campus Institutionalization and Sustainability Guidebook to help California community colleges strengthen their Caring Campus efforts.

In 2024, 4CS released the Caring Campus Institutionalization and Sustainability Guidebook to help California community colleges strengthen their implementation efforts. Now, 4CS will release an updated Guidebook featuring additional tools and strategies for sustaining and institutionalizing a culture of care. Stay tuned for more details!

We are proud to support 4CS as they expand this important work and help make a culture of care a lasting part of the California community college experience.

I’m also pleased to share that the early bird registration deadline for the Caring Campus Conference 2026: Developing a Legacy of Impact has been extended to Wednesday, September 30, giving you more time to take advantage of discounted registration.

CCN members are also eligible for Caring Campus Certification, which recognizes standout colleges and universities that demonstrate strong implementation efforts and sustained commitment to student success.
