President's Message

Gratitude, Growth, and Looking Forward

Dear Caring Campus Community,

In times of adversity, such as the recent hurricanes and disasters that have affected many communities in the east, it is heartening to witness a spirit of care and compassion in action. Pasco-Hernando State College in Florida has gone above and beyond in supporting its students by providing funds, supplies, and much-needed resources to the students who were affected. Their response not only exemplifies their commitment to student success but also demonstrates that students are truly cared for.

We applaud Pasco-Hernando for its dedication to students and for setting an example of empathy and resilience that inspires us all. Keep an eye out for a feature story highlighting Pasco-Hernando’s great work later this month.

Pasco-Hernando State College exemplifies what it means to be a Caring Campus, going above and beyond to support students who were affected by the recent hurricanes in Florida.

As we continue looking to the future, we hope you are getting excited for our inaugural Caring Campus Conference: Building a National Culture of Care, held one year from now – November 12-14, 2025 – at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Diego. Keynote speakers Dr. Vince Tinto and Dr. Peter Felten will offer profound insights into how we can continue to shape the student experience in meaningful ways, and we will celebrate the successes of our Caring Campuses at our first-ever Certification Award Ceremony.

This conference will be a pivotal moment for us to share, learn, celebrate, and collaborate on advancing a culture of care across campuses nationwide. Mark your calendars, and stay tuned for more details coming soon!

The inaugural Caring Campus Conference: Building a National Culture of Care will feature notable keynote speakers Dr. Vince Tinto and Dr. Peter Felten.

I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who has participated in our Caring Campus Network (CCN). In the Network’s inaugural year, we have created a wealth of resources for members, including exclusive webinars, a robust artifacts database, conference discounts, certification eligibility, and a community of institutions all striving toward the same goal – student success. These tools and connections have proven to be invaluable for institutions that are committed to fostering a culture of care, and we encourage campus leadership to keep an eye out for communication on how to renew your CCN membership for the coming year.

Connect with us today to learn more about how we can help your campus continue to build and nurture a culture of care.

As we approach this season of gratitude, I want to wish you all a joyful Thanksgiving season and express my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering commitment to students and for the work you do to create campuses where every student feels supported, valued, and empowered. It is because of your dedication that we are able to help increase student persistence, retention, and success.

Sincerely,

Brad Phillips
