Introducing the Next Chapter of Caring Campus Leadership

Dear IEBC and Caring Campus Community,

As longtime leaders and coaches of Caring Campus, we have seen firsthand the profound impact this work has had on institutions nationwide. From improved student persistence and completion rates to stronger workplace cultures and deeper connections among students, faculty, and staff, Caring Campus continues to demonstrate the power of placing care at the center of the educational experience.

As we step into our new leadership roles, with Ken serving as CEO and Bola as President, we do so with tremendous gratitude for the foundation that has been built and great excitement for what lies ahead. Our commitment to the mission and vision of Caring Campus is steadfast: helping colleges and universities create cultures of care that foster belonging, strengthen human connection, and improve student success.

Looking ahead, we aim to continue expanding the reach and impact of Caring Campus, strengthening the network of our institutions, and continuing to provide coaching and resources that empower campuses to engage more deeply with this vital work. We look forward to maintaining the strong relationships we have established and creating new connections as we bring more institutions into the Caring Campus family.

We are also excited about the continued strength of our partnerships with the ECMC Foundation, Greater Texas Foundation, Lumina Foundation, Raikes Foundation, and Trellis Foundation, which will help advance new opportunities to expand Caring Campus both with traditional coaching, regional work, and support at the Caring Campus Conference 2026: Developing a Legacy of Impact, happening in Nashville from November 11-13.

Throughout this transition and beyond, our focus will remain on enhancing the student experience, uniting higher education professionals around this shared commitment, and helping colleges and universities build environments where every student is valued and supported.

We are committed to transparent communication and welcome opportunities to connect with you. Whether your institution has been implementing Caring Campus for years, is just beginning its journey, or is exploring how Caring Campus could support your goals, we look forward to partnering with you.

We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Brad Phillips for his many years of visionary leadership, dedication, and service. Through his leadership, Caring Campus grew from an innovative idea into a nationally recognized movement that has positively impacted countless students and institutions. We are grateful that Brad will continue supporting this work in his role as CEO/President Emeritus, and we are honored to continue and build upon the legacy he has created.

Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to student success. We are excited for this next chapter and look forward to advancing this important work together.

Sincerely,

Ken Sherwood
