Anticipation for the Caring Campus Conference 2025: Building a National Culture of Care is reaching new heights as we draw closer to November 12-14. This conference promises to be a transformative experience for community college and university staff, faculty, administrators, and researchers dedicated to advancing student success.


Among the many highlights of the conference is the opportunity to hear from two influential scholars whose groundbreaking work has reshaped educators' understanding of student engagement and retention.


Dr. Vincent Tinto stands as a leading figure in educational theory, researching and writing on student success and the impact of learning communities on student growth and attainment. As a Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at Syracuse University and former Chair of the Higher Education Program, Dr. Tinto has dedicated his career to understanding the complexities of how institutional action can influence student success. With more than 50 notable publications, including his two influential books, “Leaving College” and “Completing College,” and numerous partnerships with organizations, foundations, and government agencies, Dr. Tinto is known as a standout voice in higher education. 

Dr. Peter Felten is a distinguished educator and researcher who has significantly contributed to the role relationships play in undergraduate education. Serving as the Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning, Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning, and Professor of History at Elon University, Dr. Felten's versatile roles underscore his commitment to enriching the educational experience. His seven published books about undergraduate education, including "Relationship-Rich Education," focus on exploring the influence of relationships, purpose, and belonging on students’ lives.
