President's Message

Announcing New Initiatives for 2024

Dear Caring Campus Community,

As we welcome a new year, we welcome new opportunities to help our colleges establish a culture of care and positively impact the lives of students. We have two powerful new programs that we are launching to help you deepen your Caring Campus work, the Caring Campus Network (CCN) and the Caring Campus Academy (CCA). By expanding the tools available to colleges and universities, we embark together on a journey of new beginnings that will continue to transform higher education across the nation.

The CCN will connect Caring Campus colleges and universities so that they can share their ideas and success stories, while building relationships and gathering support from like-minded institutions. Members will have access to a centralized resource database that allows Caring Campus institutions to connect and learn from others in the network. Through CCN, members can also engage in virtual roundtables each semester, apply for a Caring Campus certification, opt-in to participate in a membership directory, receive a discount on CCA participation, and receive additional benefits. All past and present Caring Campus colleges are automatically enrolled at no charge through a generous grant from the ECMC Foundation as a CCN member for the 2024 year, and we cannot wait to see all the connections made through this network.

The CCA addresses the important question of how best to bring new hires into the Caring Campus culture, thereby continuing the crucial work that the college has already begun on their campuses. Through a short series of onboarding sessions, CCA helps to familiarize new administrators, faculty, and professional staff with the principles behind Caring Campus and the behavioral commitments involved. These faculty and staff can then immediately contribute to the college’s Caring Campus implementation.

As we welcome our first university, Texas A&M University – Kingsville (TAMUK), to the Caring Campus family, we look forward to growing and building a culture-changing shift in university campuses. We are incredibly excited to work with TAMUK as they launch Caring Campus to help students feel more connected to their university and establish a sense of belonging. This addition to our Caring Campus community marks a huge step toward improving equity and student success across the nation.

We are confident that our incredible Caring Campus colleges and universities will continue to achieve impressive student outcomes and a positive and caring culture with the support of our new offerings. We look forward to our continued partnership as we embark together on these new beginnings for the 2024 year!
