President's Message

Building a Legacy of Care

Dear Caring Campus Community,

Our first Caring Campus Academy (CCA) cohort brought tremendous enthusiasm, energy, and positivity to each of their five onboarding sessions. Throughout the Academy, attendees eagerly embraced the behavioral commitments and strategies designed to help every student succeed, embodying the very spirit of Caring Campus.

The CCA was created to integrate new faculty and staff into the Caring Campus culture, ensuring that every employee aligns with its principles. Additionally, CCA serves as a way to refresh and update the practices at colleges that implemented Caring Campus years ago, incorporating the latest adaptations and improvements.

Our inaugural CCA cohort expressed a desire to continue creating a cross-college network, building on the relationships they formed during the sessions, and sharing ideas on how to positively impact students' experiences moving forward.

The Caring Campus Academy is designed to seamlessly integrate new hires into the Caring Campus culture, ensuring that every employee aligns with its principles.

We are thrilled with the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the Spring 2024 CCA cohort. Their enthusiasm is a testament to the power of Caring Campus, and we are excited to see how their efforts will benefit their college communities.

Stay tuned for details on our Fall 2024 Caring Campus Academy (CCA) offerings and to learn how new faculty and staff can enroll to become agents of change on your campus.

Our Caring Campus Network (CCN) website is nearing its launch. This new platform will be a valuable resource, offering a range of useful information, including a database of Caring Campus artifacts, details on upcoming webinars, contact information for CCN members, and much more.

As you continue to explore the valuable CCA and CCN resources, remember that Caring Campus thrives on empowering staff, faculty, and administrators to foster a culture of care that unites your entire campus. By fostering a culture of care that transcends individual roles, you are not just shaping your school's present, but also weaving a legacy that will leave a lasting impression on your campus.

We are excited to share that our Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for Caring Campus Ken Sherwood will be co-presenting with Temple College President Dr. Christy Ponce at The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Conference on Tuesday, May 28. Their presentation, titled "Caring About Our Students is the Key to Their Success," will delve into how creating a supportive campus environment can drive student persistence, retention, and success.

Connect with us today to learn more about how we can help your campus or District office continue to build and nurture a culture of care.

Sincerely,

Brad Phillips
