President's Message

Countdown to the Caring Campus Conference: Engage, Learn, Celebrate!

Dear Caring Campus Community,

We are just one month away from our inaugural Caring Campus Conference: Building a National Culture of Care, taking place November 12-14 in San Diego. I am thrilled to hear from staff, faculty, leaders, and researchers from across the nation as they share actionable strategies and outcomes-oriented tools that are making a real difference for students.

Representatives from institutions across the country will be joining us – from Texas, including Texas A&M University - Kingsville, Temple College, McLennan College, Trinity Valley Community College, Brazosport College, and Palo Alto College; to California, with Mission College, Victor Valley College, and West LA; and beyond, with Patrick & Henry Community College in Virginia, Bossier Parish in Louisiana, and Oakton College in Illinois. Each brings a unique perspective and experience that will enrich our conversations.

College and university representatives from across the country will be presenting at the Caring Campus Conference, including from Texas, California, Virginia, Louisiana, and Illinois.

And don’t miss the opportunity to hear from our two keynote speakers, Dr. Vincent Tinto and Dr. Peter Felten, who bring decades of expertise in student success. Their insights are sure to inspire and provide actionable takeaways.

We are also excited to recognize standout colleges and universities in our Caring Campus Awards ceremony, honoring those who have achieved Certification as well as other exceptional accomplishments.

It’s all happening in just a few short weeks and there is still time to register and be part of this transformative experience. We know that securing funds to attend the conference has been challenging - so I’m pleased to announce that early bird pricing is here to stay! This permanent extension is designed to make attending the event even more accessible. Plus, single-day passes are available for those unable to attend the whole conference. I can’t wait to see you there.

Caring Campus Vice President and COO Ken Sherwood recently presented at the Modern Learner Summit, highlighting the transformative impact of Caring Campus.

In other news, we are honored to welcome South Orange County Community College District to the Caring Campus family as our second Caring Campus District. By implementing this work at the District level, all employees and schools can align around a shared commitment to student success, creating a cohesive and supportive environment for every student.

Additionally, Ken Sherwood, Caring Campus Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, recently presented at the Modern Learner Summit, hosted by Trellis Strategies and the Trellis Foundation, alongside Temple College president Dr. Christy Ponce. Together, they highlighted the transformative impact Caring Campus has on both students and institutions, underscoring the power of a culture of care.

Thank you for your continued dedication to student success and Caring Campus. Connect with us today to learn more about how we can help your campus continue to build and nurture a culture of care.

Sincerely,

Brad Phillips, Ph.D.
