2026: A Year of Impact with Caring Campus

Dear Caring Campus Community,

Happy New Year! At IEBC, 2026 is poised to be a year defined by meaningful impact. Every day, the work happening through Caring Campus strengthens connection, belonging, and student success. This year, we want to focus on deepening those outcomes and extending their reach. Everyone on your campus plays a vital role in advancing this work, and together, its influence can extend even further.

The inaugural Caring Campus Conference in November 2025 highlighted what this impact looks like in action. Watch the video below to hear reflections from staff, faculty, and administrators on this monumental event.

One important way our impact will continue to grow in 2026 is through the expansion of the Caring Campus Academy (CCA). For the first time, the CCA will be open to colleges and universities that have not yet participated in Caring Campus, broadening the national culture of care. We hope to see you in our spring CCA cohort starting the week of April 13. Additional information coming soon.

Another opportunity to extend impact is through participation in the Caring Campus Network (CCN).  The CCN offers members access to impactful webinars, discounted conference registration, an artifacts database, and eligibility for certification. Plus, additional opportunities to participate in grant studies, co-author articles in higher education publications, present alongside Caring Campus leadership at impactful conferences, and more. Renew your CCN membership by February 28 to take advantage of these benefits.

And mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 4 for our next webinar, “Caring Campus Refresh – Jump-Start Your Program.” Registration details will be available soon.

This year, take advantage of one of our many impactful offerings to deepen your commitment to care, such as the Caring Campus Network and Caring Campus Academy.

As our organization looks toward the future, I would also like to share an important leadership transition. Effective July 1, 2026, I will be stepping back as CEO/president of IEBC and Caring Campus, while continuing to work half-time. Vice President and COO Ken Sherwood will assume the role of CEO, and Dr. Bola King-Rushing, currently Associate Vice President of Caring Campus, will step into a new leadership role as president. Ken and Bola are exceptional leaders whose vision and dedication will guide Caring Campus into its next chapter.

It has been my honor to serve you these past 18 years, and I look forward to continuing to support this important work as President and CEO Emeritus.

Thank you for your continued dedication to student success and Caring Campus. Connect with us today to learn more about how we can help your campus continue to build and nurture a culture of care.

Sincerely,

Brad Phillips, Ph.D.
