Rick Ramos

Educational Consultant; Director of Educational and Career Technical Program Support, Legacy1media

Dr. Rick Ramos, Educational Consultant, Director of Educational and Career Technical Program Support for Legacy 1Media, has over 30 years of experience in education.  He has taught at both the Community College and California State University level. His last assignment was as the Dean of Allied Health and Public Safety at Merritt College in Oakland where he served as the lead administrator of Workforce Development initiatives.  

Dr. Ramos holds an EdD in Community College Administration from San Francisco State University. He has championed a number of student success initiatives over the past 20 years, working closely with Career Ladders and the Irvine Foundation. His interest in linked learning, abolishing assessments, use of multiple measures for placement and contextualizing English composition courses have provided him with unique experiences in adapting instructional strategies to meet the needs of his students. His latest project involves creating easier access for potential students to community colleges, particularly the “first generation college students” using digital recruitment hubs.
