Naeemah Payne

Math Faculty, Los Angeles City College

Coach Naeemah Payne is a Los Angeles native raised in the San Gabriel Valley.  She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona earning a BS and MS in Applied Mathematics nearly two decades ago. She has been a full-time faculty member at Los Angeles City College in the Math Department since 2002.  Back in 2017, she retired the title, Professor Payne, and became Coach Payne to complement her unique teaching style by transforming math into a sport. She is a beloved instructor, known for her enthusiasm, positive energy, organization, pep talks, and mentoring and guidance of her students. She is passionate about assisting students in reaching their full potential and breaking barriers in science.
