Loredana Carson

Dr. Loredana Carson comes to IEBC with over thirty years of experience in education as a faculty member and as a program director in adult education, where she has worked closely with community college leadership to establish pathways for adult learners to reach their educational and vocational goals. As an adult education program director, she developed non-credit and community education programs that expanded community capacity and engaged businesses and residents.

As the Ventura County Adult Education Consortium Co-Chair, Loredana worked with the community colleges to coordinate service and program delivery. As a faculty member at California Lutheran University, Loredana taught graduate students in public administration and business for over ten years. She mentored students and served as the academic advisor for MPPA students. Her experience combines teaching and administrative roles and her strong interest in student success and college persistence for students of diverse backgrounds.

Prior to her career in education, she worked in the private sector in human resource management and business development and operations, providing background for her expert mentoring and guidance to students transitioning to the job market.

Dr. Carson has a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from UCLA, and an MPPA degree and a Doctorate in Higher Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University. She is a member of Ventura County Leadership Academy (Cohort XXII) and serves on the Curriculum Committee. Recently retired from full-time teaching, she is a Senior Adjunct at California Lutheran University where she teaches courses in Human Resource Management and directs thesis and dissertation research and Capstone projects for graduate students in the School of Management. Her research interests include international student engagement and success, academic integrity, organizational development and change, as well as issues relating to language acquisition and student success.
