IEBC Partnership Seeks to Sustain and Institutionalize Caring Campus
Our longtime partner, California Community Colleges Classified Senate (4CS), has brought together classified professionals from across California to work on the Caring Campus guidebook, which will outline strategies for community colleges to sustain and institutionalize Caring Campus beyond its initial implementation.
Los Angeles Pierce College Establishes Supportive Culture Through Caring Campus
Pierce College focused first on implementing Caring Campus for staff in spring 2022, prioritizing training for those who are the college’s earliest point of contact for students. The school then expanded training to faculty, completing the Caring Campus program on February 29, and ensuring that the entire Pierce College team was equipped to create and support an ongoing culture of care.

Caring Campus Network – Spreading the Word and Balancing the Workload
Our first Caring Campus Network webinar was a huge success, with over 150 attendees! The webinar included discussions about successful Caring Campus implementation and advice on how staff can capitalize on the momentum of Caring Campus within their current workload led by Hinds Community College Director of Organizational Development Dr. Gay Saxon and Copper Mountain College Caring Campus Liaison Jared Zwicker.

IEBC was recently featured in Inside Higher Ed’s insightful article, “From the Top Down—Creating a Caring Campus,” which features our first Caring Campus university, Texas A&M University – Kingsville, and how they are establishing a sense of belonging on campus.
